Summer is a great time to explore the outdoors and all of its surroundings. Ever since I was a little kid I loved everything about summer. I love the warmth that summer brings, so having to deal with all the cold in North Dakota is a daily struggle. One of the big aspects I love about summer is enjoying the outdoors and being in nature. When I was in elementary school my family did a lot camping activities whenever we had a chance. We hiked so many trails all over Kentucky I know them like the back of my hand. Through this experience I got to see some pretty amazing views. I also got to be on the water a lot as well. My family experienced many white water rafting and kayak trips in several different rivers. During the years I was able to improve my skills in different water sports. I was glad to get back to being outdoors this weekend.
To celebrate the three day weekend me and the other EKU intern went on a hiking trip. Down in Berea, Kentucky there is this awesome park called the Pinnacles that has great views. There are multiple trails that led you to an overlook that was breath taking. It was a treacherous hike to be able to get up to the overlook, but we eventually made it. There were many places to stop and take pictures however pictures would not do it justice. Once we got to the top we took some time to take it all in. It was great to see the beauty around me that I do not normally get to see in the city. This summer I just won’t be able get enough of the amazing outdoors!
