At the end of every semester I always say the same thing, “ I cannot believe how fast this semester went.” I sit back, reflect on my semester and wonder where the time went. I remember thinking I was never going to make it to the end and how slow it all seemed to be going. Yet every time I make it and every time I wonder when I lost track of time.

My final fall semester as a graduate student has come to a close. For many students the month between fall and spring semester gives them time for catching up, relaxing and maybe earning some extra money. For me as a second year graduate student it means working for money.  It also marks the beginning of my job search process, which is a bittersweet, yet terrifyingly frightening moment.

Once again I cannot believe how fast time is moving. I remember when I started my graduate school program everyone preached how fast the two years would go. Meanwhile I was buried in work and wondering how it could possible ever fly by when I have a million and one things to do. When I was in the middle of it, especially the most intense parts like internships and comprehensive, it was hard to believe I’d get through it all.  It’s important to remember those times, because I learned the most during them.

With one semester left I know it is going to fly by. I am excited to write about and share my final chapter of my journey as a student affairs graduate student with you all.
