Sometimes You Just Have To Have A Little Fun.

As my internship is winding down in length, I noticed that I am gaining several projects to complete in the next week and a half before I leave. This coupled with the stresses of thinking about packing up my room into my car, saying goodbye to new friends, and preparing to tackle my last year of grad school have had me feeling quite introverted.

So on a whim I texted one of the Res Life staffers I have become pretty good friends with to see if she wanted to feed the geese. Of course she did, so we met up by the lake. What started as a calm evening throwing stale bread to the local residents on the water quickly escalated to a great memory filled with laughter. Soon after we began feeding the geese, we realized they were beginning to surround us. I have had ducks and geese as pets in my childhood so it didn’t really bother me too much. Suddenly, a thought popped into my head, and without thinking, I quickly reached down and picked up the goose that happened to be standing right next to me.

The hilarity the ensued could not have been expected. The goose was squawking from being startled, I was laughing at how comical it was, and Dani, my friend, was laughing at the absurdity of it all. Quickly thinking, Dani pulls out her phone to take a picture and soon realizes that it is in video mode. Even better.

So what I am getting at is don’t ever take you job so seriously that it inhibits you from getting out and having a little fun. You never know how healing a good laugh with a good friend can be.
