It is officially summer time here in Lubbock, TX and with University Student Housing (USH). Camps and conferences are beginning, summer-wear is allowed, and I have graduated… Wait, I’ve graduated – so now I am in this limbo/transition time. For those of you who do not know, I have accepted a position as a Residence Life Coordinator at Valparaiso University, and I will be starting in July. I am extremely excited for this next chapter in my life (a post in the next week or so will be coming about the exciting results of my dual/partner search), but summer time this year is going to be well… AWESOME!

It is going to be a time for adventures, trips, work, new experiences, and relaxation! I am planning to head to Carlsbad Caverns this weekend on an impromptu trip with my significant other, in June I will drive up to Kansas City to visit her (significant other), and then my brother will fly out and we will make the road trip to Valparaiso, IN for this next chapter in my life. Oh and I am very fortunate to be able to work here in USH until all these adventures take place.

It took some careful deliberation of dates and balancing what I need to make all these plans, but for me this was the perfect balance of work, personal life, and adventures! I hope this summer time season you are able to figure out what you need to do to make sure you are recharged for the next academic year!

In peace,

Ryan Bye (@ByeByeRyan)
