Surviving Start 2.0

I would like to welcome you all back to work and wish you a Happy New Year! Like most of you, I have been preparing for students to come back to campus and trainings. While my mind has been consumed by what needs to get done this week, I have been challenging myself to think about how I am going to find “me” time in the midst of prepping for the return of my student staff and residents. One way that I have been ensuring that I find time for myself is to schedule it into my calendar. So far I have derby practice and other work outs planned to ensure that I leave campus and my work. Not only is it important for us to think futuristically about what tasks need to get done at work, but you need to plan time for yourself when you know you are going to need it. If you can, schedule in yourself some “me” time. This does not mean that you will not have a lot of tasks to complete, but it should also help your productivity and overall satisfaction with life and work. Here’s to a successful start to the semester!
