I thought that it would be totally appropriate, (seeing that
tomorrow marks my third month workaversary) that we all take a moment to
realize and appreciate all the good work that we as Student Affairs
professionals are and have been doing. For the last few months, we have been
preparing, planning, and meeting with various parties
to improve the lives of students on our campuses. While I may not know you, I
wanted to make sure that you are getting the recognition that you may not be
getting at work.
Thank you for taking the time to…
·
Talk to the student who was having
trouble talking to her roommate
·
Plan a program that came out of an
unexpected need
·
Respond to emails and voicemails
·
Support students above and beyond because you
genuinely care
·
Listening to what is going on in a student’s life
·
Providing academic support
·
Etc.
YOU have done a huge part in changing the lives of the students on
your campus. Take a moment of silence to make your hardest critic (YOU) see all
of the great work that you have been doing so far this year.
Congratulations, we’ve made it to
October!
Happy Student Affairs month!
