My New Home

So as you may know, I’ve been packing for the past couple of weeks and this weekend I finally got to UNPACK!!! My wonderful parents helped me load up 2 cars and we made our way up to my new home in Sherman, TX. When I arrived, one of my new co-workers, Leo, met me and took me over to my new apartment to help unload. I was welcomed in with a basket filled with home necessities and a nice little card from my new staff!

It’s crazy but it really only took about 30 min to get everything into my apartment and after grabbing some dinner, my parents were on their way back home… and I was on my own! After a lot of unpacking I set up my TV and relaxed a little before bedtime.

The next day I had to head out for some dishes and groceries… aka shopping! I was so excited to find most of my usual stores but was so sad to find out there was not an H.E.B. (a grocery store very well known in Texas)!! I was forced to go to a Kroger’s and couldn’t find any of my H.E.B. brands, coupons, or regular prices. I will do my best to embrace my new store though J Other than that, I’m really finding a number of similarities between San Marcos and Sherman, TX. They are both small towns, there is a big city 45 min -1 hour away, there are trains, and shopping centers just a few miles down the street. I can’t wait to learn more about this little town… but mostly, I can’t wait for my first day of work! Well, technically my first day is a drive in conference for Student Activities! Then I’ll begin the following day. I’ll be sure to let ya’ll know how it all goes!
